BURLINGTON - Mr. Donald Wesley Joyner, 93, of Burlington went to be with the Lord at Edgewood Place on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at 12:40 a.m.

A native of Nash County, he was the husband of the late Eleanor Louise Bateman Joyner and the son of Merritt Wesley Joyner and Ora Cornelia Raynor Johnson, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and retired from AT&T. Donald also owned Joyner's Greenhouse and Joyner's Hatchery and Poultry Farm. He was a member of Shiloh Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Donna Joyner Hanford and husband Jimmy of Burlington; two sons, Norman W. Joyner and wife Sheri of Elon and Jon Dale Joyner of Burlington; three granddaughters, Wendy Billings and husband Todd, Brandy Lambert and husband Todd and Monica Roach and husband Chris; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Allie Estelle Catlett.
A private graveside service was conducted at Pine Hill Cemetery.
