ELON - Doris Louise Mosley Alcon, 83, of 2746 Old NC 87 North, passed away Monday, Oct. 29, 2012 at her home after six months of failing health.
She was the wife of the late Robert Sidney Alcon Sr. and was born Nov. 5, 1928 in Union, S.C. to the late Glen and Lottie Mae Willard Mosley. Doris had worked for Monarch Hosiery and attended New Hope Baptist Church in Buffalo, S.C.
Survivors include two sons, Jackie Alcon and wife Debbie of the home and Michael "Mike" Alcon and wife Tammy of Altamahaw; three daughters, Becky Johnson and husband Robbie of Reidsville, Bonnie Jean Durham and husband Donnie of Sandy Ridge, N.C. and Brenda Littlejohn and husband Clifford of Buffalo, S.C.; brother, Bobby Mosley and wife Kathryn "Kat", of Durham; sisters, Carol Dean Kiesler and husband Bobby and Mary McCoy and husband Ray "Rabbit", all of South Carolina; 12 grandchildren; 17 great- grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a son, Glen Sidney Alcon; a sister, Faye McWaters; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2012 in Bethlehem Christian Church cemetery by Pastor Johnny Burgess and her great-grandson, Ethan Alcon. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Friday, prior to the service, at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times at the home.
