WHITSETT - Mrs. Doris Sue Joyce "Toodie" Sharpe, 76, passed away Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at the Hospice Home, after two months of failing health. She was born in Guilford County to the late Walter Lee Joyce and the late Beulah Ernestine Dezern Joyce and was married for 52 years to Hildred Frederick "Hilly" Sharpe, who survives. Doris was a homemaker and a member of Mount Hope United Church of Christ.

Survivors other than her husband of the home include her daughter and son-in-law, Donna S. and David O'Neal, of the home; sons and daughter-in-law, Tony Lynn and Kimberly Sharpe, of Columbus, Ohio, Darrell Wayne Sharpe and fiancée, Cammie, of Rock Hill, S.C., Mike Edward Sharpe, of the home; grandchildren, Christina O'Neal Starman, Amber Sharpe, Hannah Sharpe, Emma Sharpe and Jack Sharpe; great-grandchildren, Christopher Martin and Kylie Sharpe; sisters, Edith Neese of Cape Coral, Fla., Belle Gerringer, of Gibsonville, and Joan May, of Whitsett.
The family will have a private memorial service at a later date, per Doris' wishes. The family will be at the home.
