Mrs. Emma Love Bolton, age 86, a resident of 2613 Holly Brook Drive, Burlington, N.C., departed this life Friday night, Nov. 8, 2013, at the Hospice Home of Alamance in Burlington, N.C.

She was a member of St. James Baptist Church in Leasburg, N.C.
She is survived by seven daughters, Minnie Sue Lunsford (Wilie), Mary Ann Bowman and Deborah Paylor (Chris), all of Roxboro, Shirley Mitchell, Jeanette Bolton and Erma Corbett, all of Burlington, N.C., and Karen Bolton of Milton, N.C.; a son, Arnold Bolton of Roxboro; two special godsons, James "J.B." Dixon of Mebane, N.C. and Santonio Bolton of Yanceyville, N.C.; four sisters, Arlania Jeffers of Burlington, Isabel Thompson of Mebane, N.C., Patricia Thompson of Washington, D.C. and Emma Thompson of Durham, N.C.; a brother, Preston Thompson of Virginia; 23 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at the Cunningham-Nelson Funeral Home Tuesday from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m.
The funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, at 1 p.m. at St. James Baptist Church, 1065 Solomon Lea Road, Leasburg, N.C., with the Rev. Haywood Smith officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The body will lie in state in the church one hour prior to the service with family visitation from 12:30 until 1 p.m. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home.
