Mrs. Esqurita "Rita" Albright Shoe, 73 passed away Thursday May 1, 2014 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
Rita was born in Alamance County on March 11, 1941, the daughter of William Henry and Gertrude Faucette Albright. Rita was a former Supervisor with Cone Mills and was a member of Eastlawn Baptist Church where she served as secretary and in the choir. Her love of cooking led her to graduate with honors from ACC with a degree in Culinary Arts. Rita was an independent woman who kept up with technology and was especially proud that she had her own Facebook and Pinterest accounts. She enjoyed painting, scrapbooking and anything that involved crafts. She was married to the love of her life Hal Dean Shoe for 58 years whom survives. Rita was preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving in addition to her husband Hal Dean of the home are, two sons, Gary Dean Shoe of Haw River and Gregory Dwight Shoe and wife Crystal of Rougemont; a daughter Kristy Lynn Shoe Stovall and husband Quint of Burlington; five grandchildren, Savannah Ashley Shoe Helms and husband Jon, Amanda Nicole Shoe, Lindsay Terrell Byrd and husband Derrick, Jordan Quint Stovall and Steven Stovall; and a great-granddaughter Marley Paige Byrd.
A Celebration of Life Service was held at 3 pm on Sunday at the Omega Funeral Service & Crematory Chapel by Reverend Steven Joyner and Reverend Jim Rosser. The family received friends from 2-3pm and following the service at the funeral home.
