GRAHAM - Esther Thompson Pike, 81, of 1522 East Main St., entered Heaven's gates to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Oct. 10, 2013.
A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late Charles C. Thompson and Lilly Ray Thompson. She was employed as a nurse for Alamance County Hospital for many years.
Survivors include her children, Cindy Pike and Jim Pike (Tammy); grandchildren, J.R. and Michael Pike; brothers, Richard, Charlie, Bill and Ben; sisters, Jane Johnson and Betty Doss; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Ann Thompson.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Cornerstone Community Church, 6324 South NC 87, Graham, NC 27253 with the Rev. Stephen Hall officiating.
The family will receive friends from 12 until 2 p.m. prior to the service at the church and at other times at the home of her son, Jim, 1522 East Main St., Graham, or her daughter, Cindy, 2202 Lee Drive, Burlington.
The family would like to thank Jennifer Johnson of Edgewood Place and the staff of The Hospice Home for their love and support.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell, 918 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
