Florence Lillian Isabel Greenberg, 84, of Elon, N.C., passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on July 7, 2013 at Moses Cone Hospital after a brief illness.

Florence was the daughter of William Brown and Lillian Dahl Brown of Swathmore, Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her dear husband, Samuel.
Florence is survived by her daughter Pamela Sue Morayati of the home; son, Marc L. Greenberg and his wife Nancy of Wilmington, Delaware, and daughter Sally Gill and her spouse Rani of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandchildren Sarah Katherine Morayati of New York City, Hannah Cate Morayati of Liverpool, England, and Sam, Harrison and Benjamin Greenberg of Wilmington, Delaware.
Those who knew and loved Florence would describe her as an active, funny, caring and strong woman who was devoted to her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, reading and spending time with her friends. Florence was an avid animal lover and sponsor for many animal charities. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter in Burlington and was active with the seniors group at the church.
Florence and her husband were in the restaurant business and were the owners of Green's of Fairfax in Wilmington, Delaware in addition to other food service businesses. When she retired from Green's of Fairfax, Florence moved to North Carolina to live with her daughter, where she immediately fell in love with the area. She enjoyed her role as Grammy to her granddaughters who were blessed to receive her love, support and wisdom. Florence will be dearly missed by the many people whose lives she touched with her humor, generosity and spirit.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter. The family will receive friends after the service in the church's parlor.
In lieu of flowers, it is requested that memorials be made in her name to the Humane Society of Alamance County or any animal shelter or pet adoption agency in your area.
The family is at peace with the passing of their beloved mother and grandmother knowing that she and her husband Sam are together again, young and strong in the presence of the Lord.
