GRAHAM - Deacon Francis Cleveland Packenham Sr., "Skeet," 89, of 510 Washington St., died July 20, 2013 at White Oak Manor.
He was the husband of Mrs. Montese Graves Packenham, who survives, and son of Mr. William B. Packenham and Mrs. Sarah Cornelia Morrow Packenham Freeland, both deceased. He was a member of Children's Chapel UCC where he was a Deacon. He was a celebrated Montfort Point Marine having served in World War II.
Survivors include his loving wife of the home; five children, Fornecer Lawing and husband, the Rev. Raymond of Dillwyn, Va., Francis C. Packenham Jr. and Benson Graves Packenham Sr. and wife Vanessa, all of Graham, Enzer Packenham of Dillwyn, Va., and Eric Packenham and wife Patricia of Logan, Utah; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Public viewing will be from 1 to 9 Tuesday evening at Sharpe Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 24 , at Children's Chapel UCC. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the services at the church on Wednesday and at other times the family will receive visitors at the home. Burial will be in Children's Chapel Church cemetery.
