GREENSBORO - Mrs. Geneva Hildebran Rudisill, age 94, passed away Monday, July 28, 2014, at Wesley Long Hospital.
A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum followed by a time of visitation. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, at Center United Methodist Church, 4945 Sherrills Ford Road in Catawba.
Born in Iredell County, on July 14, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Julius Gaither Hildebran and Beulah Webb Hildebran. She was a member of Center United Methodist Church in Catawba, a 1937 graduate of Sherrills Ford High School as the valedictorian, also receiving a bachelor's degree in education from Lenoir-Rhyne College in 1941. After teaching first grade for 35 years, she retired from the Burlington City Schools System in 1982. On March 7, 1942, she was married to Herman Alexander Rudisill, who preceded her in death on Oct. 21, 1997.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Jean Hildebran, Doris Wilkinson, and Barbara Hildebran; brothers Ernest Hildebran, Coleman Hildebran, and Paul J. Hildebran.
She is survived by her children Daniel Rudisill and wife Donna of Greensboro, and Linda Covington and husband Harold of Huntersville; sister, Jewell Hildebran and Winnie Pressley both of Conover; brother, Joe Hildebran of Newton; grandchildren Karen Smith and husband Tom, Lisa Mojica, Lawson and Logan Rudisill. Also surviving is a great-granddaughter Madison Mojica.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Center United Methodist Church or to your local Hospice Organization.
