GIBSONVILLE - Glenn S. Martin, 59, of Springwood Ave. passed away on Friday, May 4, 2012 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. He was born in Wake County to Macon E. Martin, Jr. and the late Janice Hardy Martin. He was married for 38 years to Peggy W. Martin who survives.
Glenn was the Assistant Chief of the Gibsonville Fire Department, where he worked for 25 years. He was also a North Carolina EMT and had just passed the test to become Fire Officer Two. He loved flying R.C. planes and was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife of the home; daughter, Janice N. Martin, also of the home; father and stepmother, Macon E. Martin, Jr. and Ruth Ann Martin of Burlington; brothers, Kenneth E. (Becky) Martin of Burlington and Steven D. (Kathy) Martin of Graham; sister, Pamela M. (Jeff) Jarrett of Haw River; stepsister, Emily E. (Kent) James of Gibsonville; extended family, Tiffany and Lui Lattero and son, Alexio of Gibsonville, Brooke Hendren, Cameron Carroll and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Brian Ayers. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and other times at 429 Timbergate Drive, Gibsonville.
