RAMSEUR - Grover Cleveland Burgess, Jr., 77, of 7306 Burgess Kivett Rd., Ramseur, died Sunday, May 24, 2015 at his residence.
Graveside Services, 3 PM, Thursday, May 28, 2015, at Kildee Wesleyan Church, Ramseur, with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Officiating, Rev. Jimmy Hill.
A beloved father and grandfather, G.C. was a native of Randolph County, a veteran of the National Guard, and a member of the Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church in Burlington, where he lived for many years. During his working career, he worked until retirement with Carolina Telephone Company and later with Lynch Communication. He ended his Career with Northern Telecom and left to persue his favorite job of all, the love of his life, farming.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover Cleveland Sr., and Lola Macon Burgess, his brothers, Franklin Burgess, Boyd Burgess, and sister Blanche Burgess Mitchum. Survivors: daughter, Ginger Burgess Rhoads, and husband Scott, of Graham, son, Ray Burgess, of Huntington Beach, CA, sisters, Clarice Chriscoe, and husband Harvey, of Ramseur, Faye Cox, and husband Loyd, of Asheboro, brother, Hampton Burgess, and wife Jo, of Ramseur, grandchildren, Tanner Burgess, Anabelle Rhoads, Lyla Mae Rhoads.
Visitation, 6 PM to 8 PM, Wednesday, Loflin Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ramseur.

He was a wonderful Great-Uncle to me, my sister (Victoria), and my cousins Zach & Victoria Gardener. He will be greatly missed and we love you so much GC!
