Harold Longest Obituary

BURLINGTON - Mr. Harold Eugene Longest, 87, of 1221 Border Street, Burlington, N.C., died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012 at 4 p.m. at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
A veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force, he was a charter member of Andrews Memorial Baptist Church, where he retired, as well as being an usher and a Sunday School teacher for numerous years.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Baker Longest, of the home; daughter Eugenia "Gena" Longest Medley and husband Robert, of Burlington; stepdaughter, Irene Wilson Sparks and husband Larry, of Burlington; and several loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vestal and Edith Leah Hutchins Longest.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012 at the Andrews Memorial Baptist Church by Dr. Tommy Willis and the Rev. Jack Phillips. The family will receive visitors at the church one hour prior to the service on Sunday and at other times at the residence of the daughter, Gena, 1215 Border St., Burlington, N.C. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Andrews Memorial Baptist Church for Camp Deer Lake, 301 West Elm St., Graham, N.C. 27253.
