BURLINGTON - Harvey Neale, 88, of 1505 Zwingli Court, Burlington, N.C. passed away on Oct. 18, 2012. A private memorial will be held at Twin Lakes Retirement Center and his ashes buried in Fairfield, Conn.
He was born on Oct. 12, 1924, to Harold and Isabelle Neale of Fairfield, Conn. After graduating from Roger Ludlow High School in 1942, he served in the Army Air Corps and after the war graduated from the University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, Conn. Harvey was a vice president of sales and marketing in the steel industry.
Harvey's wife of 59 years, Joan Porter Neale, predeceased him in 2009. He is survived by daughter, Katherine A. Neale of Raleigh; sons, John P. Neale of Chapel Hill and David H. Neale of Gibsonville; and two grandchildren, Emily Neale and Alexander Neale.
Harvey enjoyed bridge, golf, traveling, gardening and reading. His children remember him as loving, nurturing, genuinely interested in their lives, devoted to family, and fun to be with. He will be greatly missed.
