Throughout the years, she taught private piano lessons in her home. She was also a member of the Gideon's Women's Auxiliary, an organization dear to her heart.
Irene and Robert also spent 8 years in Raleigh, N.C. and after retirement moved to High Point, N.C. in order to be closer to family. During this time they became members of the First Wesleyan Church in High Point, NC.
