BURLINGTON - Mr. Jerry D. Cobb, 71, of Burlington, died at Alamance Health Care Center on Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013 at 8:45 a.m.

A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of JoAnn B. Cobb, who survives and the son of Otis Cobb and Mamie Lou Cobb, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from Piedmont Natural Gas. Jerry was a member of People's Memorial Christian Church.
In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include a daughter, Diana L. Patton and husband Steve of Gibsonville; son, Tommy Wimbish of Chesney, S.C; sister, Peggy Gilmore of Burlington; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a son, John David Cobb.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Ray Lambe. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
Mr. Cobb will be available for public viewing at Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Tuesday at 2 p.m. until prior to the service on Wednesday. The family will be at the residence.
