ELON - Jerry Wayne Foushee, 66, passed away Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at the VA Hospital in Durham. He was born in Orange County to the late Baxter Burns Foushee and Elizabeth Roberson Foushee. Jerry retired after 38 years with Dexco Electrical and was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, where he received a bronze medal and a Purple Heart. He was an avid Tar Heel fan and loved animals.

Survivors include nieces, Cindy Moricle, Olivia Foushee, Beth Foushee, Wendy Foushee and Leslie Whitesell; nephew, Mark Thaxton; sisters-in-law, Audrey Foushee and Kay F. Carden, his special friends, Albert and Lori Freeman, and all his friends at Fat Frogg's in Elon. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Baxter and Victor Foushee; and a sister, Martha Thaxton.
