MEBANE, N.C. - Jimmy Darrell Bright, 63, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at UNC Hospitals.

Jimmy was born in Alamance County. He worked as a supervisor of maintenance for Carolina Hosiery and, at one time, as a long distance truck driver. Jimmy served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Jimmy is survived by his children, Jesse Cartwright of Gibsonville, Mary Wergin (Jeff) of Milwaukee, Wis., Melanie Wooden of Durham, Darrell Bright (Misty) of Haw River; and their mother, Elizabeth King; grandchildren, Jessica, Dillon, Samantha, Tristan, Crystal, Adam, Donte, Brittany and Peyton; great-grandchildren, Patrick, Jeremiah and Jacob; sisters, Nancy Ashley (JB), Brenda Allen (George) and Libby Adams (Butch); brothers, Richard Bright (Brenda), Joe Bright, Danny Bright (Sondra); his companion of 17 years, Debbie Ray; and her children, Randy Langley (Janet), Anthony Langley (Jennifer); and Randy's children, Trinity, Eathan and Joscelin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Marvin and Margaret Elizabeth Lemons Bright; brother, Glenn Bright; nephew, Michael Bright; and niece, Lisa Bright.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, in the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Mebane by the Rev. Jeanne Neal. The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane from 12:30 until 2 p.m. prior to the service. At other times they will be at the home of Brenda Allen, 407 E. McPherson Drive, Mebane, N.C.
