BURLINGTON - Jo Ann Perry Melton, 73, passed away Thursday at Liberty Commons Center.

She was born July 10, 1939 in Alamance County to the late Alton Manson Perry Sr. and the late Alma Allen Perry.
Jo Ann was a faithful servant of God, who spent her life serving others on mission trips and volunteering with Meals on Wheels. She was a member of City Lake Baptist Church and attended Faith Worship and Healing Center.
Survivors include her daughter, Cindy Williams and husband Edward of McLeansville; granddaughters, Whitney Williams and Hayley Williams; sisters, Ella Shumate, Mary Staunton, Frances Harmon and husband Claude, all of Burlington; a brother A.M. Perry Jr. and wife Dianne of Burlington; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 10 until 10:45 a.m. at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., prior to the service, and at other times at the home of her sister, Mary Staunton, 1612 NC 62 North, Burlington.
The family would like to thank the staff at Liberty Commons Nursing Facility for their care of Ms. Melton.
