BURLINGTON - Mr. John W. Hatfield, 74, of 1102 Shaw Street, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.

He was the son of Louis Hatfield and Vennie Blackwell Hatfield, both deceased and the husband of Mae Ellen Tate Hatfield, who survives.
In addition to his wife of the home he is survived by six daughters, Kathy McKinney Hatfield, Robin Satterfield (Harry), both of Burlington, Connie Hatfield Coleman, Rudean Pride (Roy), both of Graham, Angela Hatfield of Alexandria, Va. and Sherry Hatfield of Haw River; three sons, Joe Hatfield of Burlington, Tony Hatfield and Cliff Webb, both of Alexandria, Va.; two brothers, Kenneth Hatfield (Brenda) of Burlington and Jeffrey Hatfield (Sharon) of Greensboro; two sisters, Estell Gant (Orbert) of Burlington and Gloria Jean Hatfield Alston of Charlotte; three stepdaughters, Mary Fuller, Linda Tate and Betty Jean Tate; one stepson, Ronnie Lee Tate; a host of grandchildren, great- grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
His funeral service will be held today, Saturday, Oct. 6 at 1:30 p.m. at Bethel Fellowship. Burial will follow in North Lawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the funeral service at the church and all other times at the home of his sister, Estell Gant, 1306 Kennedy Court.
