BURLINGTON - Joyce Baker Longest, 93, of Burlington, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
Joyce was born in Alamance County. She was retired custodian at Andrews Memorial Baptist Church where she was a charter member.
She is survived by a daughter, Irene Wilson Sparks (Larry) of Burlington and son-in-law, Robert Medley of Burlington; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Eugene Longest; parents, Alfonzo "Sicky" Baker and Ada Welch Baker; daughter, Eugenia Longest "Gena" Medley.
A funeral service will be held Monday, April 21, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Andrews Memorial Baptist Church. Officiating will be Dr. Tommy Willis. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service. At other times they will be at the home of Robert Medley, 1215 Border St., Burlington, NC 27217.
Memorials may be made to Andrews Memorial Baptist Church, 301 W. Elm St., Graham, NC 27253.
McClure Funeral Home in Graham is in charge of arrangements.

Irene, Larry & Robert, I'm so sorry to hear about Ms Joyce. She was such a sweet woman and will be missed. My heart goes out to you and your family for she was such a special person.
