BURLINGTON - Louise Boswell Hooper, 96, of Edgewood Place and formerly of South Fairway Drive, Burlington, died at Edgewood Place on Friday, February 7, 2014 at 11:05 pm.

A native of Caswell County, she was the wife of Raney Reid "Buck" Hooper and the daughter of Lorenzo Bedford Boswell and Fannie Myrtle Chandler Boswell, both deceased. She was the former bookkeeper for Coble Hardware, a member of the First Baptist Church of Burlington and the Alamance Country Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Elaine Sawyer and husband Richard of Burlington and Bette Stuckey and husband David of Fletcher; a daughter-in-law, Kitt Hooper; one sister, Irma Pinkston; one brother, Eugene Boswell; six grandchildren, Jerome Stuckey, Deanna Stuckey, Allen Horne, Neil Horne, Kirke Hooper and Molley Bull; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Steve Hooper and sisters, Irene Ingold, Ann Pyles and Helen Foster.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at 2 p.m. by Dr. Dale Steele with the family receiving friends from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. The committal service will follow immediately after the funeral service at Alamance Memorial Park.
