Louise Ferrell Obituary

YANCEYVILLE - Louise Yeatts Ferrell, 89, of Yanceyville, was called home to our Heavenly Father on April 21, 2014, surrounded by her loving family at her home. A vessel of joy and kindness and filled with dignity and authenticity, she was the beloved mother of Janice Dorsett, grandmother of Michelle Pittman, and great-grandmother of Lauren Hand and Leah Hand. Her character will forever be an example of a virtuous woman.
Mrs. Ferrell was a native of Caswell County and was the daughter of the late Clarence and Luttie Yeatts. She was a member of Lea Bethel Baptist Church in Prospect Hill and a longtime and faithful attendee of First Baptist Church of Yanceyville. Louise was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She loved traveling, cooking, and growing flowers. Most of all, she loved her family and friends.
Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Ferrell; brothers, Jack Yeatts, Lawson Yeatts, and Les Yeatts; and sister Hazel Yeatts.
She is survived by her daughter, Janice Dorsett and husband Larry of Pelham; granddaughter, Michelle Pittman and husband Michael of Pelham; great-granddaughters, Lauren and Leah Hand of Pelham; sister, Helen Parks and husband Gene of Burlington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 24, at Harrelson Funeral Home with the Rev. Claude Harrelson officiating. Burial will be at First Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Harrelson Funeral Home in Yanceyville and at others times at her home.
