BURLINGTON - Mr. Loyd Lee Jobe, 87, of 831 Kimberly Road, Burlington, died at the Hospice Home on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013, at 6:35 p.m.

A native of Brownwood, TX, he was the husband of Margaret Burton Jobe, who survives and the son of Loyd Ludwell Jobe and Anna Marie Jobe, both deceased.
Loyd was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during World War II. He was a graduate of Baylor University and Southwestern Baptist Seminary in Fort Worth, TX. While living in Little Rock, Arkansas, he was the educational director for the First Baptist Church. After moving to the Burlington area, he was employed as a planning engineer for 20 years with Western Electric.
Loyd was a member of the First Baptist Church of Burlington where he served as a deacon.
In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include a daughter, Susan Humphrey and husband Doug of Holly Springs; son, David Jobe and wife Dot of Graham; three grandchildren, Dan Edwards, Amy Humphrey and Sarah Humphrey; and three great-grandchildren, James Edwards, Jenny Edwards and Nick Edwards.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Lewis Jobe.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at 2 p.m. by Dr. Terry Peele with the family receiving friends from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.
