GRAHAM - Mrs. Mabel Wilkins Cheek, 94, formerly of Graham, died at the Hospice Home in Burlington on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at 9:35 p.m.

A native of Orange County, she was the wife of the late Horace Leighton Cheek and the daughter of William D. Wilkins and Ola Dorrity Wilkins, both deceased.
She retired from the Alamance County Health Department as secretary for the Health Director and nurses. Mabel was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Graham, the United Methodist Women and the Doris Crissman Sunday School Class.
Survivors include two sons, Doug Cheek and wife Janet of Franklin, Tenn. and Jeff Cheek of Raleigh; two grandsons, Jason and Kevin Cheek; granddaughter, Lindsey Cheek; and two stepgrandsons, Corey Heitz and Andrew Heitz; and great- granddaughter, Isabella Bananno.
The funeral service will be conducted at the First United Methodist Church of Graham on Saturday, July 5, 2014, at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Kevin Baker, with the family receiving friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 303 North Main Street, Graham, NC 27253.
