Mary Magdalene Shelton, 77, of 6807 NC 86 South, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013 after being in declining health for the past several months.

Mrs. Shelton was born in the Leasburg Community of Caswell County on Oct. 29, 1935, a daughter of the late Lea Grand Webster and Mary Kathleen Hicks Webster. She lived all of her life in Alamance and Caswell counties.
She was a graduate of Bartlett Yancey High School, Class of 1954, and a graduate of the former Burlington Business College. Mrs. Shelton retired from the General Electric Corp. after 30 years of service. She was a member of Union United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women and a member of the General Electric Retiree Club.
Mrs. Shelton is survived by her daughter, Pam Milam and husband Mike of Providence, N.C.; two grandchildren, Brandy English and husband Dale and Brittany Milam; three great-grandchildren, Mason English, Macey English and Gage English; brother, Thomas Webster of Providence, N.C. and Hugh Webster and wife Pat of Burlington, N.C.; sister, Geraldine W. Fuqua of Yanceyville, N.C.; one special cousin, Florine Glenn of Mebane, N.C.; three nephews and one niece.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013 at 3 p.m. from Union United Methodist Church. A private interment will be conducted at a later date. The family will receive friends after the service in the church fellowship hall and at other times at the residence, 6807 NC 86 South, Yanceyville, N.C. 27379.
The family would like to thank the Alliance Caswell Hospice Group and special caregiver, Melissa Hazelwood, for the wonderful care given to Ms. Shelton.
