Mike and Shanon Turner
Heaven welcomed two special angels on October 11, 2013. Michael Ryan Turner and Shanon Moser Turner unexpectedly lost their precious lives in a fatal motorcycle accident.
Mike was born January 13, 1972 in Cumberland County to the late Patty Turner, fathered by Wayne Turner of Alamance County. Shanon was born in Gaston County on September 18, 1973 to the late Donald A Moser and Peggy L Tew of Alamance County.
Mike and Shanon were married on August 26, 1995. This is when their beautiful life together began. From this point, they not only grew their love for one another, but grew an amazing family of their own. In their passing, they have left behind two loving sons, Michael Lynn Turner and Luke Cameron Turner.
Mike was self employed and was able to provide a beautiful life for his family. Shanon was fortunate enough to be a stay at home mother for 13 years. She was also able to touch many lives through her work as a medical clerk at the mental health facility and Department of Social Services.
Mike and Shanon enjoyed nothing more than being with each other and spending time with all their family and friends; from pool parties, t-ball, soccer games, and family vacations. They enjoyed their lives and were compelled to share their happiness with anyone whose lives crossed their path.
There are absolutely no words that can describe the emptiness in the hearts of the ones left behind by this extraordinary pair.
The ongoing list of those left behind to enjoy their memories begins with Mike's brother, David Wayne Turner and his wife Jennifer; and Shanon's sisters, Tracy Moser Wilson and her husband Mike and Danielle Moser Powell and her husband Matt. They shared nieces and nephews, Jacob Wayne Turner, Gracie Love Wilson, Mason Crawford Turner, Emma Lee Wilson, and Madelyn Brooke Turner. A grandfather, a grandmother, several uncles and aunts, many cousins, and far too many friends and people who loved them to mention.
They will always be remembered and loved unconditionally in our hearts.
The family will receive friends at the Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington on Monday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 pm.
Their funeral service will be held at Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Burlington on Tuesday, October 15, at 11:00 am by the Rev. Neal Salter and the Rev. Walter Jones.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Hospice of Alamance - Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215 or to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058-5216.
