BURLINGTON - Mr. Clifton Dorsey "Boss Man" Harris, 62, of 2420 Aaron St., died Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, at UNC Chapel Hill.

He was the son of Mr. Alvis Harris of Burlington and the late Mrs. Lille Cotton Harris, and was married for 43 years to Mrs. Cathy M. Harris of the home. A member of Gethsemane Christian Church, he loved laying tile, yardwork, cars, watching racing and spending time with his family and grandkids.
He is survived by his son, Clifton B. Harris of the home; daughters, Theresa Harris (Dwayne Hester) of Whitsett and Amy N. Harris of Burlington; brothers, James Howard Harris of Burlington, Maurice "Lynell" Harris of Greensboro, Douglas Patrick Harris of Burlington, Maurice Shavers (Diane) of Burlington; sisters, Patricia Harvey (Gary) of Burlington, Linda Pulliam and Carol Pulliam, both of Burlington; grandchildren, Victoria, Brandon, Alexis, Destiny, Tevin, Shayla, Shamirah, Tobias, Christian and Jalen; one aunt, Nellie Corbett; a special niece, Betty Harris, special nephew, Henry Alton Harris; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Alvis Jr., and a sister, Barbara Harvey.
Special sons include David Bradsher, Thad Gilliam, Terrance Vincent, Dieshone Watlington, Devin Knight and Freddy Michael.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 5, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Gethsemane Christian Church, 1650 Burch Bridge Road, Burlington N.C. The Rev. Patrick will provide the eulogy. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday, Aug. 5, 2013, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church prior to the service. The family will arrive at 1:30 p.m. Public viewing will be Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013, from 1 to 8 p.m. in the Roy Blackwell Chapel of Blackwell Funeral Home, Burlington. At other times the family will receive visitors and friends at the home.
