MEBANE - Mrs. Lucille Hackney Lasley, 87, of 5309 Mebane Oaks Road, died at 1:50 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Samuel Neal Lasley and the daughter of Willie Joseph "W.J." Hackney and Beulah Phillips Hackney, both deceased. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethlehem Presbyterian Church for more than 50 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Sylvia L. Cooper and husband, Donald, and Brenda L. McGhee and husband, Ray, all of Mebane; one son, Larry Lasley and wife, Linda, of Mebane; six grandchildren, Kevin Lasley and wife, Susanne, Heather Lasley, Daniel Cooper and wife, Allison, Abbie Cooper, Wesley McGhee and Matt McGhee; and one great-granddaughter, Payton Rae Lasley. She was predeceased by two sisters, Marselle Hackney Gilley and Lucy Hackney Boswell; and two brothers, Jack Hackney and Everette Hackney.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, at Bethlehem Presbyterian Church with the Revs. David Crow and Randolph T. Wellford officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday, Sept. 17, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Rich and Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham and at other times will be at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, 3624 Bethlehem-Saxapahaw Church Road, Mebane, NC 27302, and/or Presbyterian Home of Hawfields, 2502 S. N.C. 119, Mebane, NC 27302.
