BURLINGTON - Mrs. Pauline Welch Hurley, 83, of 412 South St. John St., died at her home on Sunday Sept. 15, 2013 after two years of failing health. She was born Sept. 1, 1930 in Hemp, N.C., and was a graduate of Alamance Community College with a degree in Nursing Assistance II. Church memberships included Glencoe Methodist Church, St. Luke's Methodist Church along with the American Legion Auxiliary of Alamance County.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Manley Banks Hurley Sr.; parents, Lena and C.O. Welch Sr.; father and mother-in-law, Charles and Minnie Hurley; grandson, Andrew Marshall Mock; sister, Sylvia Dianne Welch; and sister-in-law, Ann Welch.
Family members surviving include daughter, Becky Hurley Mock and husband, John R. Mock, granddaughter; Meredith A. Mock and great-grandson Chad Mock; daughter, Vickie Hurley Maxwell; granddaughter, Mendie Maxwell Timberlake and husband, Todd Timberlake; great-granddaughter, Brittany McKenzie; great-grandsons, Ryan McKenzie and Camden Santos; daughter, Pamela Sue Hurley, son, Manley B. Hurley Jr. and friend, Katrina Fox; granddaughter, Lauryn Hurley Henderson and husband, Josh Henderson; great-grandchildren, Bella Grace Holbrook and Jared Henderson; granddaughter, Kendal Hurley Nixon and husband, Eric Nixon; granddaughter, Jordan Hurley Williams and husband, Jordan Williams; great-grandson, Cole Williams; son, Charles Marshall Hurley; grandsons, Cody Newton Hurley, Joey Blanchard and wife, Lauren Blanchard; great-grandchildren, Taylor Blanchard and Madison Blanchard; brothers and sisters, Clarence O. Welch Jr., Dalia Mae Welch Travis, Carl Welch and wife, Anna "Dee Dee" Welch, Lynnette Welch Baxter and husband, Bernie Baxter. Pauline also leaves behind many beloved nephews, nieces, cousins and friends too numerous to list.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, in the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham. Officiating will be Dr. Genie Martin. Burial will follow at a later date in Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service.
