BURLINGTON - Ms. Mary Louise Walker Long, 87, of 519 Baldwin Road, Apt. 1A, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Hospice Home of Alamance.

A native of Caswell County, she was the daughter of Sterling Walker and Mary Bigelow Walker, both deceased, and the wife of Moses Long, deceased.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Spencer Long; daughter, Dorothy Thompson; two brothers; one sister and a granddaughter.
Survivors include two sisters, Ora Shaw and Laverne King, both of Greensboro; three stepdaughters that she raised, Lola Long of Burlington, Judy Long of Virginia and Mary Graves of Prospect Hill; two grandsons, the Rev. Michael Thompson (Tracey) and Bryant Crisp, both of Burlington; six great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Joann Sellars Long of Burlington; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Arches Grove UCC with her grandson, Pastor Michael Thompson, performing the eulogy and the Rev. Dr. Larry Covington officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will greet friends 30 minutes prior to the funeral service at the church and all other times at 2934 Juniper Drive, Burlington. A public viewing will be held Monday from 1 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
