SWEPSONVILLE, N.C. - Mrs. Nellie Braxton Farrell, 90, of the Swepsonville-Saxpahaw Road, Swepsonville, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012 at Liberty Commons in Burlington.

A native of Alamance County, Mrs. Farrell was the wife of the late Duard M. Farrell and the daughter of the late Ernest M. Braxton and the late Lillie Hudgins Braxton.
Mrs. Farrell retired from the Planning Department of the Kayser-Roth Corporation. She was a member of Phillips Chapel United Methodist Church and the Saints Alive Senior Citizens Club.
Mrs. Farrell is survived by her son, David Burwell and wife, Sheila, of Trinity; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Anne Patterson of Burlington; a granddaughter, Mary Shanon Burwell; four stepgrandchildren and seven great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her three sisters, Ruth Braxton, Jean Hanford and Lula Fuquay and one brother, William Braxton.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012 at Phillips Chapel United Methodist Church from 2 to 3 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. in the church sanctuary with the Rev. John Woodard officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
