BURLINGTON, N.C. - Peggy Clark Gable, 83, died peacefully Oct. 3, 2013, at the Levine & Dickson Hospice House at Southminster Place in Charlotte, N.C., surrounded by her loving family.

Peggy was born Dec. 22, 1929, in Abbeville, S.C. to the late Walter and Della Clark. On June 5, 1948, Peggy married her beloved husband James W. Gable Jr. "Jimmy" who predeceased her. In 1966, the family moved to Burlington, N.C., where they became members of Davis Street United Methodist Church. Peggy was an accomplished musician and sang in the choir as well as played the piano before Sunday services. She served on various committees at church, but particularly loved her Sunday School classes and participating in Bible Studies. Peggy was also the owner of Gable Cleaning Service for over 30 years. For many of her customers, she not only cleaned their homes, but also became their friend.
Peggy is survived by her son, J. Clark Gable (Dodie) of Burlington, N.C.; daughter, Nandel Rosol of Charlotte, N.C. (Doug); grandchildren, Stephen Gable (Stephanie) of Burlington, N.C. and Brittany Rosol of Charlotte, N.C.; and her great-grandchildren, Ava Caraballo and Emma Caraballo of Charlotte, N.C. and Wesley Gable of Burlington, N.C. Peggy is also survived by two sister-in-laws, Nell Clark and Francis Clark, both of Abbeville, S.C, as well as many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Davis Street United Methodist Church, Burlington, N.C., officiated by the Rev. Ellen McCubben and the Rev. Wilber Jackson. The family will receive friends at the church following the service and at other times at the home of J. Clark Gable.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Levine & Dickson Hospice House at Southminster Place and Dr. Kurt Washburn with Mecklenburg Neurological Associates, in Charlotte, N.C., for their compassionate and loving care.
