GIBSONVILLE - Ralph Eugene Kerr Jr., 82, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
Born in Guilford County, he was the son of the late Ralph Eugene Sr. and Viola Forbis Kerr and was married for over 52 years to the late Annie Jeannette Ashe Kerr.
Ralph retired from Southern Webbing and was a member of Gibsonville Church of God, where he enjoyed playing guitar and served as church clerk for over 30 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his children, Cynthia K. (David) Walker of Burlington, Kenneth (Patty) Kerr of Swannie, Ga., Belinda Mondie of Haw River, Michael (Jennifer) Kerr of Mebane and Gene (Anna) Kerr of Graham; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Wanda Kerr of Burlington.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and a brother, Edwin Kerr.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Betsy Combs with interment to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon until 1:45 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service, and at other times at the son's home, Gene Kerr, 526 Johnson Ave., Graham, N.C.
