BURLINGTON - Mr. Robert Earl Prevatte Sr., 62, of 3025 Bellemont-Mt. Hermon Road, Burlington, died at the Hospice Home on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at 5:37 p.m.

A native of Lumberton, he was the husband of Sharon Perry Prevatte, who survives, and the son of James Murphy Prevatte and Ether Deese Prevatte, both deceased.
He was president of Infrastructure Builders. Robert was proud of his Native American heritage. He loved fishing and dove hunting and was an avid Duke fan. He was of the Baptist faith.
Robert loved his wife, children and grandchildren.
In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include two sons, Robert John Prevatte of Burlington and Kevin Dwayne Prevatte of Eli Whitney; daughter, Cassie Prevatte James and husband Colton of Courtland, Va.; seven grandchildren, Robert John Prevatte Jr., Karen Lepper, Brandi Wine, Austin James, Brianne Prevatte, Hailey James and Kalee Prevatte; two great-grandchildren, Ryder Prevatte and Joshua Lepper; three brothers, James Prevatte of Henderson, Nev., Nealy Ray Prevatte and Vernon Prevatte, both of Chapel Hill; and two sisters, Elaine Prevatte Cowan of Greensboro and Betty Prevatte Slade of Burlington.
A memorial service will be conducted in the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at 2 p.m. by Pastor Tadd Grandstaff, with the family receiving friends following the service at the funeral home.
