MEBANE - Mrs. Rosa Bigelow Corbett, 58, of 5765 Burton Chapel Road, died July 28, 2014, at UNC Hospital, Chapel Hill. She was the wife of Mr. Woodrow Corbett who survives, and daughter of Ms. Juanita Stephens of Caswell County and the late Ralph Edward Bigelow.

Survivors other than her husband and her mother include a daughter, Shalanda Corbett McNeill (Michael) of Burlington; two brothers, Keith Bigelow (Darlene) of Elon and Ronald Bigelow of Burlington; three sisters, Debra Harrelson (Thomas) of McLeansville, Donna B. Turner of Graham and Annette Williams (Joie) of Mebane; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was a devoted member of Burton Chapel Baptist Church. She had a passion for catering and entertaining which prompted her to found "Catering by Rosa." She was a member of the Red Hatters Club. She enjoyed spending time with the elderly and had a special love for kids and growing flowers.
Public viewing will be Thursday, July 31, from noon to 8 p.m. in the Roy Blackwell Chapel at Blackwell Funeral Home. The wake will be Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. At other times the family will receive visitors and friends at the home.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, 2014, at Burton Chapel Baptist Church, 5277 Burton Chapel Road, Mebane, with the Rev. Maurice Boswell delivering the eulogy. The body will lie in state from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Burton Chapel cemetery.
