BURLINGTON - Mr. Royce Evans Jr., 55, of 1770 Jeffries Cross Road, died April 29, 2012 at his mother's residence, 2435 E. Simpson Road, Burlington.
He was the son of the late Mr. Royce Evans Sr. and Mrs. Frances Teel Evans of Burlington. He was a member of Union Chapel Christian Church and a facilitator at General Electric. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, Panther games, fishing, taking care of his farm, spending time with his friends and taking care of his dog, Max.
Survivors include two sons, Tim Stanfield (Jennifer) of Graham, N.C. and Mark Chavis Evans of Burlington, N.C.; two daughters, Tammi Stanfield Pulliam (Xavier) and Charvaris Wilkins (Herbert) both of Burlington; four sisters, Lorraine Evans of Burlington, Yvette Evans Ferrell of McLeansville, N.C., Hope Evans (Amanda) of Winston-Salem, N.C. and Melody Evans Caldwell of Graham, N.C.; nine grandchildren; three aunts, Elizabeth Teel Pinnix and Ruth Teel Harris, both of Burlington, and Ida Mae Teel Warren of Winston-Salem, N.C.; three uncles, Harry Teel (Agnes) and John Teel (Lucille), both of Burlington and Gary Teel (Terri) of Winston-Salem; a special friend, Laurie Currie and a best friend, Ray Holmes, both of Burlington; and a host of friends and relatives.
The funeral will be Friday, May 4, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Union Chapel Christian Church with visitation one hour prior to the service with family arriving at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in Union Chapel Christian Church cemetery.
The wake will be Thursday, May 3, 2012 from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Roy Blackwell Chapel, Blackwell Funeral Home, Burlington. Public viewing will be Thursday from 1 to 8 p.m. At other times the family will receive friends at the home of Mrs. Frances Teel Evans of 2435 E. Simpson Road, Burlington.
Services are entrusted to Blackwell Funeral Home, Burlington.
