GRAHAM - Mrs. Ruby Black Quakenbush, 85, of 5704 Swepsonville-Saxapahaw Road, Graham, died on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013 at 12:45 a.m.

She was a native of Arkansas. She was a member of Andrews Memorial Baptist Church, Friendship Sunday School class, and choir. She was the daughter of the late Charlie Melvin Black and Bessie Orman Black. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wade McLendon Quakenbush, two sisters, and one brother.
Survivors include one daughter, Wadene Wagoner and husband, Chris, of Graham; three sons, Coy Quakenbush of Graham, David Quakenbush and wife, Shelia of Graham, Samuel Quakenbush and wife Natalie, of Ohio; one sister, Ethel Faucette of Haw River; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Chapel of Andrews Memorial Baptist Church in Graham on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at 2 p.m. by pastor, the Rev. Tommy Willis. Burial will follow at Moore's Chapel cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Rich & Thompson Funeral Home in Graham from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2013 and at other times at the home of her daughter, Wadene Wagoner, 146 Herronwood Drive, Graham.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Moore's Chapel Cemetery Association or Hospice of Burlington.
