GREEN COUNTY - Mr. Stanley A. Pinnix Sr., 74, of 2568 Moore Rouse Road, died Oct. 17, 2014.
He was the son of Mr. William "Bill" Pinnix and Mary Louise McCullen Pinnix Walker, both deceased.
He graduated from Jordan Sellars High School where he played basketball. He was a great athlete, using his excellent basketball skills to coach basketball, making a significant difference in the lives of others. He was retired from AT&T.
Survivors include two sons, Arnold G. Pinnix of New York City and Stanley A. Pinnix Jr. (Angelia Turner Pinnix) of Gwinnett, Ga.; a daughter, Dr. Stanette Pinnix Hall (Johnny D. Hall) of Johns Creek, Ga.; two brothers, William A. Pinnix of Mt. Morris, Mich. And Donald Pinnix of Ossining, N.Y.; two sisters, Emma E. Pinnix of Suitland, Md. And Shirley P. Ruff of Port Chester, N.Y.; four grandsons, Trevelle Lamar Pinnix, Jay Hall, Lt. Johnston Gregory Hall and Jason Morgan Hall; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert "Sonny" Pinnix; four sisters, Mary Florine Williamson, Mazie Will P. Harrison, Bertha P. Terry and Gloria Jean P. Timmons.
Public viewing will be Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014, from 10 a.m. to noon in the Roy Blackwell Chapel at Blackwell Funeral Home, 1292 Rauhut St., Burlington, N.C. 27217.
The funeral will be Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014, at noon in the Roy Blackwell Chapel at Blackwell Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon. The family will arrive at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.

Great man, Great Uncle, Great Supporter and a Great Friend. Arnold, Stanette and Plum your Daddy Loved you guys and would not have it any other way. You always brought a smile to him and Aunt Willa Mae's faces just mentioning your names. Unc, Thanks for all you tribute to our family and the memories of all the years you were with us.
