HILLSBOROUGH – Mrs. Thelma Thompson Mayo, 100 years and eight months of age, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, at Rose Manor in Durham, N.C.

She was a native of Orange County and attended the Orange County schools at High Rock Road School. Mrs. Mayo was a member of the Lamb's Chapel Church in Haw River. She was the wife of the late Knox Mayo.
Surviving are two sons, Walter Mayo and Bobby Mayo Sr. (Vivian); granddaughter, Angela Mayo Wells; grandson, Bobby Wayne Mayo Jr.; stepgranddaughter, Chanita Williams (Kevin); two great-grandsons, Clifton J. Wells and Joshua Williams; and two great-granddaughters, Jordyn and Joya Williams.
She was predeceased by her husband; parents, Mary Crisp and Walter Thompson; daughter, Helen Marie Mayo; three sisters and five brothers.
Home going services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Lamb's Chapel Church. Visitation will be from noon until 1 p.m. Thursday prior to the service at church. Burial will be in the Hillsborough Town Cemetery.
