MEBANE - Mr. Timothy "Big Man" Werner, 56, of 1009 North Carr Street, died at his residence Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 4:38 p.m. following one-and-a-half years of failing health.
A native of Buffalo, N.Y., he was the husband of Beverly Glosson Werner, who survives, and the son of Robert Paul Werner and Judith Jefferds Werner, both deceased. He was employed at G.E. in Mebane with 35 years of service. He loved gardening and baseball and was a member of the Burlington Royals Booster Club.
In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include two sons, Daniel Garner of Mebane and Jason Werner of Ohio; two daughters, Erin Werner Brown and Amy Werner, both of Ohio; two brothers, Jeff Werner and wife Cheryl of Haw River and Rick Werner and wife Wendy of Houston, Texas; a sister, Joan Martin of Mebane; and two granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by a son, Keith Garner; and brother, Bob Werner.
The funeral service will be conducted in the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham on Monday, March 17, 2014, at 2 p.m. by Mr. John Barron. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. At other times they will be at the residence.
