McLEANSVILLE, N.C. - Virginia Dare Banks, 89, died on Monday, May 21, 2012 at the Ashton Place Rehabilitation Center in McLeansville, N.C.
She was the daughter of Arthur H. Banks and Boner Walker Banks, both deceased. She was a teacher in the Burlington City School System, now Alamance-Burlington School System, for more than 20 years.
She is survived by a nephew, the Rev. Kenneth Frazier and his wife, the Rev. Bonita Frazier, of Maryland; and many other relatives and friends.
The public viewing will be May 25, 2012 at Hargett and Bryant Funeral Home from noon until 8 p.m.
The funeral will be Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. Matthews AME Church, Apple Street, where she was a member. The family will be at the church at 10:30 a.m.
