BURLINGTON - Mr. William "Hot Rod" Clinkscales passed away on Nov. 4, 2012 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. William was born on Dec. 12, 1956 in Burlington, son of the late William (Bill) Clinkscales Sr. and Helen Warren Clinkscales.
William graduated from Cummings High School in 1975 where he was a star athlete. He was a dedicated employee for 27 years at Gold Toe, and worked part-time at Winn-Dixie and Food Lion, where he never met a stranger.
William was married to Sarah Graves for 33 years. To this union two children were born, William Clinkscales III and Adrienne Brooke Clinkscales (Kevin Rogers) of the home.
He is survived by a sister, Selena Clinkscales; brothers, Anthony Clinkscales, and Derick Clinkscales (Phyllis) of Burlington. He also leaves his grandchildren whom he adored to cherish his memory and a host of relatives and friends.
A brother, Frederick Michael Warren, preceded him in death.
The funeral will be Friday, Nov. 9, 2012 at First Baptist Church, 508 Apple Street. The viewing will be from noon to 1 p.m. with services beginning immediately after.
Public viewing will be held Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012 from 1 to 8 p.m. at Alamance Funeral Home, Burlington.
