William Eugene Baldwin, 90, passed away Oct. 17 at his home in the Twin Lakes Community in Burlington, NC. Born in Racine, WI, Bill served his country during World War II as a member of the Army Air Corps. A P-51 "Mustang" pilot, he was honorably discharged in 1945. He earned his degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University in 1948, and worked for the Cincinnati Milling Machine Co. (later Cincinnati Milacron Inc.) as a sales engineer for 39 years, retiring in 1985. He lived and worked in Bloomfield Hills, MI, for 33 years before moving to Carolina Trace in Sanford, NC, and then to Burlington. He had four passions: his family, the game of golf, flying, and his computer.

A devoted husband of 61 years, Bill is survived by his wife, Anne, and his children Scott, Beth, Brad (Kristen), Chuck (Susan), Matt (Lisa), and Kate (Ingo), as well as 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
A mass will be said in his memory at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Foley Chapel at Twin Lakes in Burlington, to be followed by a celebration of his life at the Terrace Restaurant. Internment will be at the Columbarium at St. Luke UMC in Sanford, NC. In Lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to either Hospice of Alamance County or the Auxiliary of Twin Lakes.
