William O. "Bill" Bulla Jr., 93, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, at Alamance Regional Medical Center. Mr. Bulla had been a resident of Twin Lakes Healthcare since September 2008.
He was born September 13, 1918, in Alamance County, the son of the late William Oscar and Myrtle Hester Bulla of Graham.
Mr. Bulla was married for 71 years to Lessie Mae Neese Bulla, who predeceased him in January 2012.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Graham and retired from Sears. Mr. Bulla will also be remembered for his years of service with Neese Shoffner Furniture Store and Clapp Brothers. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. His favorite things in life were his wife, family, church and working in his yard with his John Deere mower.
He is survived by two children, R. Keith Bulla (Kendra) of Greensboro and Linda Bulla Mintz (Gary) of Charlotte. Also surviving Mr. Bulla are four grandchildren, Bobby Bulla (Robin) of Trinity; Brian Bulla (Carol Kline) of Raleigh; Michelle Mintz Ray (Scott) of Charlotte; and Michael Mintz (Lindsay) of Clover, S.C.; four great-grandchildren, TJ and Chase Bulla of Trinity and Lauren and Christopher Gay of Charlotte; two great-stepgrandsons, Tyler and Andrew Ray; brother, Don Bulla (Marcelle) of Graham; sister, Rala Hardie of Wilmington; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2 p.m. Saturday, August 4, 2012, at Rich & Thompson Funeral Service in Graham, followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the Chapel. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Twin Lakes Community, 100 Wade Coble Drive, Burlington, NC 27215 or First United Methodist Church, 303 N. Main Street, Graham, NC 27253.
