WHITSETT - Mrs. Carolyn Ann Sutton, 77, of 6482 Burlington Highway departed Alamance Regional Medical Center to be with her savior on Saturday, February 15, 2014. She was born March 23, 1936, in the Virginia mountains of Wise County in the town of Coeburn to the late Charles Emmit Willis and the late Hattie Marie Osborne Willis.

After the death of her mother, she was adopted by Emma Treadway, who, in turn, moved to Greensboro, North Carolina. She was a student of Bessemer High School and later became a waitress at Brightwood Inn where she worked for close to fifty years.
She was a loving mother who had a huge heart and a quick laugh. She was someone who accepted new friends and family members with open arms.
She was predeceased by her husband Kenneth Sutton and a son Kenneth Ray Sutton.
Mrs. Sutton is survived by her three sons, four grandsons and ten great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Hospice League of Alamance, 918 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
The family will receive family and friends at the home on Saturday, February 22, 2014, from 2 to 4 p.m.
