BURLINGTON - Mrs. Dorothy Lineberry Clapp, 88, of Burlington, died suddenly at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, at 10:37 p.m.

A native of Guilford County, she was the wife of the late James A. Clapp and the daughter of Raymond Lineberry and Birdie Black Lineberry, both deceased. She retired from Lucent Technologies after 35 years of service. She was a very active member of Shiloh Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Rebecca "Beckie" Lynn Pickett and husband Lynn of Burlington; brother, J. D. Lineberry and wife Nell of Kimesville; three stepgrandchildren; six great-stepgrandchildren; several nieces and a nephew.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Carl Parsons. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shiloh Presbyterian Church, 2638 Grand Oaks Boulevard, Burlington, NC 27215.
