GRAHAM - Mr. James Bryant White, 76, of 804 Sycamore Road, Graham, died after declining health at the Hospice Home on Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at 1:55 a.m.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Gale Ward White, who survives and the son of George Washington White and Mary Rose White, both deceased. He was employed with Colonial Food and Byrd's Food Store, both in Burlington and later retired from Harris Teeter located in Chapel Hill. James attended Full Gospel Tabernacle in Graham, N.C.
In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include two daughters, Teressa Hopkins and husband Phillip of Ramseur and Wanda Morrow of Burlington; two sons, Gary Lynn White and wife Amy of Graham and James Kenneth White of Burlington; a sister, Martha Hicklin of Burlington; two brothers, George White and wife Betty of Burlington and Wade White of Graham; and three grandchildren, Jonathan White, Sara White and Adam White.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth McCall and Leatha Hagood.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at 3 p.m. by the Rev. Carson Wiggins and the Rev. Kevin Barbour, with the family receiving friends from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Graham Memorial Park. At other times they will be at the residence.
Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 918 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215; or, Full Gospel Tabernacle Building Fund, 109 Webster Road, Graham, NC 27253.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Andrew Lamb and Dr. Hemang Shah for their special care. The family would also like to extend heartfelt thanks to the Rev. Carson Wiggins who has been a lifelong friend for over 50 years.
