ALAMANCE, N.C. - Mr. George T. Frye Jr., 78, of the Village of Alamance, died at the Hospice Home Thursday, March 6, 2014, at 10:40 a.m.

A native of Surry County, he was the husband of Faye Steele Frye, who survives, and the son of George Thomas Frye Sr. and Ida Lashmit Frye, both deceased. He was a retired owner of Alamance Texaco and of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include a daughter, Lynn Frye Whited and husband Keith of Burlington; son, Joey Thomas Frye and wife Monica of Alamance; sisters, Colene Jester of Burlington and Juanita Wall of Graham; brothers, John Franklin Frye of Candler and Roy Dean Frye of California; and six grandchildren, Daniel Whited, Sarah Whited, Hannah Whited, Michael Stinson, Ryan Frye and Colyn Frye.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Donniece Turney and Deloria Parrott; two brothers, Richard Lee Frye and Leroy Frye; and a grandson, Shannon Reese.
The funeral service will be conducted in the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at 11 a.m. by Pastor Tim McCann, with the family receiving friends following the service at the funeral home. At other times they will be at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 918 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
