BURLINGTON - Mr. Rufus Yarborough, 71, of 126 S. Beaumont Ave., Apt. H3, died Sunday, March 16, 2014, at Hospice of Alamance-Caswell.

He was the son of the late Mr. Rudy Frank Yarborough and Mrs. Minnie Cousin Yarborough, both deceased. He was formerly married to Margaret L. Yarborough and from this union three daughters were born.
He was a retired cloth handler with Culp Finishing. He loved being around family, socializing at Pump & Pak, and loved talking to people. He especially loved his daughters and family.
Survivors include three daughters, Cheryl Baldwin (Thomas), Carol Currie (Donald) and Shonda Yarborough, all of Graham, N.C.; a brother, Roy Yarborough (Dorothy) of Tennessee; five sisters, Frances Walker (Tim) of Graham, Bernice Allison (Gilbert) of Mebane, N.C., Kathy Yarbrough of Bridgeport, Conn., Emma Yarborough Robinson of Georgia and Hallie Ennis of Kentucky; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two goddaughters, Lisa Summers (William) and Denise Henderson (Melvin); a sister-in-law, Shelia Snipes; four brothers-in-law, W.D. Snipes (Brenda), Elder A.J. Snipes (Ruth), Charles Snipes (Annette) and Sanford Snipes (Sandra); two aunts, Mollie Belle Dodson and Delores Holsey; an uncle, Edward Yarborough; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Shamikia McDaniel; a brother, James Yarborough; a sister, Rachel Summers; a niece, Lisa Sellars; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Raymond and Minnie Snipes; and three brothers-in-law, Jimmy, Vernell and Raymond Jr. Snipes.
Public viewing will be Thursday, March 20 from 1 to 8 p.m. in the Roy Blackwell Chapel of Blackwell Funeral Home in Burlington. The wake will be Thursday from 7 to 8 in the Roy Blackwell Chapel.
The funeral will be Friday, March 21 at 2 p.m. in the Roy Blackwell Chapel of Blackwell Funeral Home with Minister Derrick Sellars delivering the eulogy. Visitation will be Friday one hour prior to the service with the family arriving at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery.
