BURLINGTON - Mr. Ernest Franklin Barnwell, 82, formerly of Graham-Hopedale Rd., Burlington, died at the Hospice Home on Friday, March 28, 2014.

A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Helen Combs Barnwell, who survives and the son of Tom Barnwell and Andrea Pleasants Barnwell, both deceased. He retired from G & K Services formerly known as Rental Towel and Uniform in Graham and was a lifetime member of Tri City Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Peggy B. Patton and husband Landy of Burlington and Phyllis B. Stillman of Schertz,TX; three grandchildren, Laura Shepanski and husband Michael, Vance Patton and wife Megan and James Feudner and wife Jennifer; five great-grandchildren, Lindsey Shepanski Dreher and husband Daniel, Kaitlyn Shepanski, Madison Shepanski, Isabell Feudner and Warren Feudner; two brothers, Jimmy Barnwell and wife Betsy and Curry Barnwell.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Christine Mann and Robena Anderson; four brothers, Charles, Hoover, Ben and Tommy Barnwell; and son-in-law, Kurt L. Stillman.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00 Monday, March 31, 2014 at Staley Memorial Baptist Church. Pastor Gary S. Gaydon, II and Pastor Bennie Smith will be officiating. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:45 pm until 2:45 prior to the service at the church.
